Lead the pack with Forerunner® 955, the premium GPS running, and the triathlon smartwatch. The training readiness feature tells you when you’re primed for a productive session, while daily suggested workouts adapt to your performance and recovery alongside the race widget, which provides training tips, course details, and completion time predictions. With a morning report, you can get an overview of your sleep, recovery, training, and more — as well as a picture of your overall health with heart rate variability (HRV) status (This device is intended to give an estimate of your activity and metrics).

On the run, new multi-band GPS and full-color, built-in maps, help you navigate confidently. And with traditional buttons and a touch display, it has never been easier to tap into your training status and know whether you’re training productively, peaking, or strained. If you’re pushing toward the podium — or to the very limits — Forerunner 955 is by your side with up to 15 days of battery life in smartwatch mode.

A few of the features are inconsistent and inaccurate

I primarily bought this watch for the heartrate monitoring aspect, which I am very happy with. However, there are several other features that I find to be inaccurate.

The stair floors ascended and descended counter is always inaccurate and needs to have an edit feature.
The stress measuring feature does not take into account non-workout related activities, such as moving around furniture or doing landscaping, neither of which are stressful but it records it as such.

The reps counter on the "Strength Training" "Free" workout option is so inaccurate that it is distracting to say the least. I find I spent more time having to edit after each set, that I just stopped using it, which skews my daily exercise totals.

There needs to be a more specific explanation of the "HRV Status", which should include ranges of what is considered low, medium, and high.

Nice upgrade

Have used the Garmin multisport watches for years. This is a very nice upgrade to the 945. Much longer battery life as well as little things like morning report. Bought the white color afraid it’d get dirty easily but so far it isn’t.

Loaded with features

Coming from a Forerunner 745, I was concerned about the size and weight of the 955, but I ended up loving it. The display actually is easier to read than the 745 and seems to be more vibrant and colorful than the 745 too. Heart rate accuracy appears to be spot on as well as GPS during an activity. I love the morning report feature, which tells me how well I slept and how prepared I am for training on any given day. A nice upgrade for me and for anyone coming from a 645 or 745 considering this watch.
