Thermophore Moist Heating Pad Units are one of the most popular sources of therapeutic heat in the home. These Battle Creek heating pads are moist safe and convenient. Available in 4 sizes. Moist heat is more effective than dry heat because moisture transmits heat better than air. The Battle Creek Thermophore Heating Pad has an outer fleece blend cover that draws humidity from the air and retains it. Then when the heat is turned on the moisture is forced out of the fleece blend and onto the treated area.

Wanted to love it. Disappointed.

After enjoying a succession of 5-6 full size Thermaphore daily for 35 years, I purchased this mini for travel. The switch is hand held vs newer kind you click on for 5 minutes. That’d be okay but switch piece is bulky, unwieldily, not ergonomic. My hand shook with effort to hold button down for 2 minutes. Tried for 5 days. Disappointed & frustrated. Sadly, will return item. Gave generous 2 stars because it’s a great company and less would feel rude.

I have an older one in a different state that gets much hotter, so I would rather have the extra heat. Delivery was great, company great to deal with, I think government regulations messed it up.

Do you need to spray water in the pad

For the Thermophore Automatic Moist Heat Pad – Deep Penetrating Heat Therapy, you typically do not need to spray or add water during normal use.

Thermophore pads are designed with a built-in moisture-wicking inner material that naturally pulls humidity from the air and produces therapeutic moist heat on their own.

Adding water is only optional if you’re in an extremely dry environment (such as desert climates or very low indoor humidity). In that case, you can lightly dampen the outer cover — not the pad itself — to enhance moisture output.

Important:

Do not spray or pour water directly onto the heating pad.

If adding moisture, only lightly dampen the removable cover.

When did it change to having a liner inside and using damp cloth for moist heat? Or is it still moist w/wo moist cloth?

The difference between the pad with the inner pocket and liner, and the standard pad is that the pad with the liner is made for a dry climate. The cover on the pad is made to wick the moisture from the air. The standard pad and cover will do this. If you live in a dry climate, you can puchase the moisture-plus model, and it has the inner poclet and liner sewn into the cover. You will moisten the washcloth that is included and put inside the pocket to add additonal moisture.
